Born in Sunderland in 1893, he enlisted as a Private in the 7th Battalion DLI in September 1914. He served throughout the Great War on the Western Front and was badly gassed. He was discharged, as a Sergeant, and was awarded the Meritorious Service Medal in 1919.
In 1921, he emigrated to Canada and later moved to the United States. He returned home in 1929 and worked as a salesman until he retired in 1960. Norman Saxon died in 1966 at Bournemouth.
